Caramel Covered Sticky Buns with Plump Raisins or Cranberries * Philadelphia Sticky Buns

I never knew Sticky Buns with Raisins were a popular item until I began getting requests to sub my Caramel Covered Pecan Sticky Buns with Raisins, Most buyers requesting the raisins were located in Pennsylvania, so after a tiny bit of research I found out it's a popular way to enjoy sticky buns in Philadelphia. - in some areas they literally are known as Philadelphia Sticky Buns.   Now after about the 4th request I decided it's time to give these treats their own listing!   As someone who has a child with a mild allergy to grapes & raisins, I decide to also try the same recipe with dried cranberries instead of raisins - both options taste delicious!   This is also a wonderful alternative for anyone with tree nut allergies! 

These are made the traditional way - yeast based dough that is very mildly sweetened, rolled out, filled with brown sugar, cinnamon & a touch of nutmeg.   Raisins (or cranberries) are plumped prior to baking, and a simple homemade caramel is made from butter, brown sugar & a little bit of corn syrup.  

Eat them at room temperature, or if your like me, heat them just a tad in the microwave for 15-30 seconds to make them both warm and even gooey-er.     I must warn ya, they are addicting and very filling - I myself cut the regular sized buns in half to eat, a full one is as filling as a large multi course meal.  

Ingredients: flour, sugar, organic butter, organic eggs, organic yeast, organic milk, organic corn syrup, organic cinnamon, organic nutmeg, salt, raisins or cranberries

Options:  Regular Size  12 or 6     Minis (these are in no way miniature,  they are still a good size sticky bun) 24 or 12.

**  In summer months or if you live in a constant warm climate (72 degrees or high), I do recommend you keep these chilled.  They can be frozen in freezer bags or a good quality freezer safe air tight container.   **
