Emerald Isle Bread * Irish Cake Like Bread with Raisins, Caraway & Walnuts

Emerald Isle Bread is no ordinary bread, it is an amazing dense, moist, cake like bread with old fashioned flavors renewed for our modern day lives.

The original recipe I had for this bread is much different - it didn't seem "authentic", so I changed it up with using dark brown sugar instead of regular granulated, buttermilk instead of plain milk, added a hint of cinnamon and allspice and some chopped walnuts to create a wonderful flavor.

In the tiniest way it may remind you of the flavors you get from carrot cake, but at the same time, something all together different. There's also raisins and caraway seeds in this bread - the caraway is what really sets this apart from most other sweetened cake like breads. You really need to try this!

Each "loaf" comes in the 9x9 inch pan it's baked in. Depending upon how you decide to slice it, you can get as many as 18 servings from this bread, a small piece is very filling, which is why I prefer to slice it into 18 slices for my family. Because of the unique flavors, you can enjoy this at any part of the day - it can be a breakfast bread, a midday snack, it can be served with dinner, even can be dessert. You do have the options to customize the bread just a bit - maybe you prefer no caraway, or no walnuts. There's various options available to you in the pulldown menu. Bread ships priority mail - included in price of bread already.
