Italian Anisette Biscotti **Toasted or Soft **Anisette Toast * Anisette Sponge

Biscotti are "twice baked" cookies - literally they are twice baked. What does this mean? Basically after mixing the ingredients for this biscotti, it is shaped into long loaves, then baked until they are set, then allowed to cool slightly, sliced into individual cookies, and baked a second time so they become dried & crunchy to perfection. These cookies are wonderful for dunking, sharing, enjoying as a snack, dessert (try dunking in soft ice cream, it's delicious!). Perfect with a cup of cappuccino, milk, coffee, hot cocoa, even tea!

These Anisette Biscotti are my personal favorite. They remind me of my childhood. We had these wonderful next door neighbors whom were like a second set (third set really I suppose) of grandparents to me. My mother and I would often visit them in the early afternoon, we would sit in the kitchen and while the adults had coffee, I had a glass of milk and there was always Stella D'Oro Anisette Toast to accompany our beverages.

And now of course, I make my own Anisette biscotti - and just like with Stella D'Oro, you have the option of them being toasted or soft (aka Anisette Sponge).

Ingredients: flour, sugar, organic eggs, organic butter, homemade organic anise extract, salt, baking powder, baking soda + optional toppings & fillings
