Sweet Portuguese Bread is a wonderful yeast based sweet bread. It can be compared to Hawaiian bread, Challah, or perhaps Potato Bread in texture and a similar sweet flavor, however Sweet Portuguese Bread has a mild hint of lemon, which sets it apart from the others. Made with organic bread flour, organic milk, organic eggs, organic butter, organic lemon, and sugar.
This loaf is just over 4 pounds, depending on how you chose to slice it, you'll get 12 or more servings. It's wonderful cut into triangles with some butter, or slice it for sandwiches. My family loves it accompanying a steak dinner. It's sweet flavor also makes it a delicious breakfast bread, if you slice it thin enough, you can even toast it and add some butter - delicious!
